Bell tent · Lower hillside
Kernow, the Cornish word for Cornwall, is the second of the two bell tents on the lower hillside, sharing the stretch with Hartland. It has its own private deck with a chiminea on it, matting underfoot, and a double bed and two singles all made up with bedding and towels before you get here.
The two tents share the gas cooking facilities that sit directly opposite them, which means breakfast happens where you are staying rather than at the far end of the park. There is still no cooking inside the tent — that holds for every bell tent we have.
Height-wise Kernow is the sensible middle. You get the raised outlook over the fields without the steep path the upper tents demand, and the walk back down to the shower block is a gentle one rather than a descent you think twice about at eleven at night. The bell tents run from April to September.
Where it sits: On the lower hillside beside Hartland, up a gentle rise from the valley floor — high enough to look out over the fields, low enough that the walk down for a shower isn’t a chore.

Very little. Same layout inside, same private deck, same gas facilities between them. Hartland has the wider deck of the two; Kernow sits alongside it on the same stretch of hillside.
A gentle rise from the valley floor, not a climb. The upper hillside tents are the steep ones — Kernow and Hartland are the middle ground between those and the level tents down in the camping field.

No. The beds are made up with bedding and towels, and there’s a chiminea on the deck. Bring food and you’re set.
Yes. Dogs are welcome in every stay at Willow Valley. Keep them on a lead no longer than two metres around the park, use the dog exercise area, and please don’t leave them unattended in the tent.
