We moved down from Shropshire and took the valley on because we wanted to do something that meant something. Call the number on the site and it’s Becky answering — unless she’s in a field, in which case it’s John.

The area
Beaches, the coast path and the town, written up by the people who live here.

Bude is the friendly North Cornwall seaside town about two miles from the valley — beaches, a sea pool, a historic canal, independent shops and somewhere to eat after a day on the coast.

The South West Coast Path is England’s longest waymarked trail, and it runs along this whole stretch of North Cornwall. Cliffs and coves the whole way, and you can join it in Bude, minutes from the valley.
From the journal
Cobbled, traffic-free and dropping four hundred feet to a 14th-century quay — Clovelly is an easy day out from the valley, and one of the few places that still moves its goods by sledge and donkey.

On the south coast, on the edge of St Austell, Charlestown is an unspoilt Grade II-listed Georgian harbour with a home fleet of historic tall ships — and a proper atmospheric day out from the valley.

Willow Valley was a working farm within living memory. Guests who pitched here in the 1960s and 70s still tell us what it was like — cowpats, basic facilities, and the same field lines you can walk today.

Yes. Dogs are welcome in every type of stay we have, from the camping pitches to the lodges. There’s eleven acres to walk them and a dog wash behind reception. We just ask for a lead no longer than two metres, that they’re exercised in the area provided and never left unattended. We can’t take Rottweilers, Dobermans, Bull Mastiffs, Pit Bull Terriers or their crosses.
Bencoolen, Heath, Helyk and Stamford, plus Mordros. All five lodges. If a hot tub is the point of the trip, book one of those.

Yes — BBQs and firepits are welcome raised on a stand or bricks. Bluebird has a log burner, every bell tent has a chiminea or fire pit on its deck, and there’s a cook deck for glampers at the facilities too.
Two shower blocks with baby changing in both the men’s and the women’s, a laundry, a cook deck for glampers at the facilities, plus a smaller cook deck for the upper-hillside bell tents by their own shower block, a dog wash behind reception and a vending machine for soft drinks. The toilets and site facilities are open 24 hours. There are football goals and swings for the children, WiFi across the park, and, during the season, local deliveries of bread, sausages, bacon, honey and milk. Bude, two miles away, has shops, pubs and cafés.
Camping and touring pitches are ready from noon, and we ask you to arrive by 6pm and leave by 11am on your last day. Glamping and the lodges are from 3pm, and out by 10am.
